A warm welcome to Kema Malki who joined the USC-Fuhrman CBIOMES Group last month.

Kema Malki joins CBIOMES as the new Lab manager for the Fuhrman Group. Malki has broad interests in viral host interactions in aquatic systems (specifically bacteria/ bacteriophage interactions.)
Malki holds a BS in Biology from Loyola University Chicago and a PhD in Environmental Microbiology from the University of South Florida. Her work in both places was focused on looking at microbial and viral communities in freshwater systems (Lake Michigan and Florida’s Springs).
