CBIOMES Welcomes Ziyue (Patrick) Zheng

A warm CBIOMES-welcome to Ziyue Zheng a PhD student at UC-Santa Cruz working with Sangwon Hyun.

HH: In summary, what are your research interests?
ZZ: My research interests centre on developing efficient and explainable statistical models for real-world problems, especially in biology.

HH: What is your role in Sangwon’s group? What will you be working on for CBIOMES?
ZZ: I currently have several projects working with Prof. Hyun which are targeted on solving problems for oceanographic data [using statistics]. At CBIOMES, I hope to learn more about oceanography and how statistics can help.

HH: What is your educational background (BS, MS)?
ZZ:  I have a BS from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law(Wuhan, China) and an MS from University of Wisconsin, Madison.
