CBIOMES Welcomes Danling Ma

A warm welcome to WHOI graduate student Danling Ma  who recently joined CBIOMES

HH: In summary, what are your research interests?
DM: My research interests are the global carbon cycle and ocean biogeochemistry.

HH: What is your role in Greg’s group? What are you going to be working on for CBIOMES?
JC: I am currently working on comparing the macroecological patterns in observations and model outputs. For my thesis project, I plan to study phytoplankton communities and their diversity patterns in the Northwest Atlantic using observations and numerical modeling.

HH: What is your educational background?
DM: I have a BS and MS in environmental science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and ETH Zurich, respectively. I am currently in the MIT-WHOI joint program in oceanography.
