by Helen Hill for CBIOMES
A warm welcome to incoming researcher Raphael Hagen, a consultant in the UW CBIOMES Group.
Raphael joins Ginger and Mohammad to work on the ocean atlas project. Over the past year, Raphael, who has a background in remote sensing and glaciology, has been working at UW School of Public Health on air pollution exposure modeling. He says joining the ocean atlas team builds on a desire to make large publicly available datasets easier to understand, use and visualize.
Story image: Raphael enjoys alpine skiing, and ski touring. Before joining the UW School of Public Health he spent three seasons working for as a ranger in the National Park Service.
